STRO’s CEO, Henk van Arkel, is currently in Uruguay amongst others to support the development of C3-Uruguay.
Read here his post on the preparation of this important example of how new money can function. Yesterday the staff of the city council of Montevideo got trained how to use the virtual currency.
Here in Montevideo the sun shines in more than one way, because with yesterday’s training the C3-Uruguay project got a step more concrete. Yesterday’s training was based on a contract STRO Uruguay signed a few days ago with the largest taxi cooperative of Montevideo. They want to use a safe C3 software solution to administrate the services for their corporate clients. Instead of having loads of paperwork, now the employees can pay with the employers’ cell phones and the employer gets all the information about the taxi rides and payments of their employees digital in their account.
Taxis as a starting point for C3-Uruguay is fantastic, because taxi drivers have all day people in their cars and they do a lot of talking. What better promoters can we want? The taxi drivers benefit not only of less administration, but also of a safer way of payment because C3 payments are digital and therefore cannot be stolen by robbers.
The first employer that is going to use this service is the city council of Montvedeo. Yesterday we trained the employees of the city council. We showed them how to use and administrate the SMS payments when their staff have used a taxi and paid through C3. We learned that about 1,000 employees will participate in this project.
The people trained were very enthusiast and immediately saw many more opportunities to benefit from C3U and its Cyclos software.
Employees of the city council not only pay for taxis but also for petrol and many other smaller purchases that up till now require a lot of paperwork, which could be reduced significantly by doing these purchases through C3U.
